If you’re looking for the most comprehensive and professional experience when purchasing a wood or pellet stove, then Fireplace and Chimney Professionals is as good as it gets.

First visit: Last year, my wife and I visited Ryan (the owner) with FCS regarding a pellet stove, we toured their showroom (which by the way) is beautiful and looked at all of their options. At the time, we weren’t super sold on a pellet stove, but liked the ease of loading pellets with no firewood mess.
We scheduled an appointment and Ryan came out to provide a quote.

Appointment with Ryan: Ryan came out promptly when the appointment was scheduled, he took detailed notes of each fireplace; specifically of the fireplace where we wanted to install the pellet stove. He even climbed up on a ladder and meticulously photographed the outside and inside of the chimney. A day or so later we received a quote. At the time, we were on a budget and could not afford to buy the pellet stove, with the professional installation. So we cheaped out and bought a Home Depot pellet stove. The old adage that you get what you pay for holds true for this story. The Home Depot stove was crap, it worked fine for several weeks, then in the dead of the winter is starting mis-firing and not working properly, “you get what you pay for.”

Fast forward to this year: This year, we reached back out to Ryan (because of our memory of a positive and courteous experience last year) knowing that we made a mistake the first time with Home Depot, and decided to get pricing on a wood stove this time. We must have spent an hour and a half talking exclusively with Ryan regarding the different stove options. My wife and I went in thinking; we only wanted to spend XX dollars on a stove. With ZERO pressure from Ryan, we ended spending double what we had planned for, for the sole reason of his professionalism and knowledge regarding stoves. We ended up purchasing a Blaze King, Sirocco 30 (SC-30). The stove is incredible. It’s a catalytic wood stove with a touted 30 hour burn time on low. While I think 30 hour is a little overestimation, we can get a solid 10 hours on low-medium on a full load of wood in the firebox. It gives off great heat with the blowers (which were additional).

Advice and Professional Coaching: We are pretty mechanically and technically sound when it comes to DIY projects. While I would say fixing a deteriorating chimney, and installing a liner is on the higher end of DIY projects, we nevertheless tackled this project with the guidance from Ryan. We purchased all the materials we needed to install the chimney liner from FCS.

Attention and Superior Customer Service: I must have called FCS several dozens times regarding different questions I had, and either Ryan or Kelly always handled my questions as if it was the first question and not the 25th question. There’s no other company, in my opinion, that provides this level of customer service and professionalism when it comes to purchasing (anything) not just a wood stove.

Our Opinion: Remember, buying a wood stove or pellet stove is an investment. If you buy something cheap, you’re going to get a cheap product. Manage your expectations when evaluating the purchase price and installation price of your woodstove. If you want a superior experience and product the ONLY company you should be considering is Fireplace and Chimney Professionals.
